"Make your feet your friend" (J.M. Barrie)
The Kennet & Avon Canal Walk
This walk connects the river Thames to the river Avon in Bath (76 miles). Walking along the tow path is easy and the path is generally well-maintained. From Bath the walk can be continued along the River Avon Trail (25 miles) to Bristol and on to the coast.
Having lived within five minutes of the canal for over 20 years this path has always featured in my life whether that is going for a Sunday stroll or cycling to the Mad Stad for a football match. Walking its entire length has been on the horizon for a long time - until now!
